Keep up with your child’s learning even with all the fun in the sun this summer with these helpful ideas:
How about starting the day off with some extra grace? Make plans to attend mass in the mornings. Who is the first person a child should learn to say “Good Morning” to anyway? Away from home and on vacation? No problem…check out MassTimes.org for mass times wherever you are.
Encourage little ones to become Einsteins with science lab kits. Seton Educational Media carries the Young Scientist sets that offer experiments on things from magnets and minerals to stars and planets! Albert would be proud of the results!
Plan a mini pilgrimage to your local shrine or basilica. Have your students write some prayers that can be prayed while visiting.
Need a little quiet down time? Bring along some manipulative kits to work on little ones’ motor skills. Seton has the perfect suggestions for working on the motor skills.
Try any of these for some fun: Noah’s Ark Puzzle, Pattern Blocks, and Alphabet Sound Puzzle.
Make long car rides or even airplane flights full of adventure and inspiration by bringing along some Glory Stories audio CDs. The saints have never sounded more heroic and personable at the same time than with these amazing audio stories of their lives.
Choose from ten different volumes. The CD illustrated here is Bl. Jose Sanchez del Rio, a central character of the movie For Greater Glory.
Remind your little ones that acts of mercy can be done wherever you are, even outside. Stop by the cemetery and offer flowers and prayers for some souls.
