America, my beautiful America,
Born in a storm of tears and rebels,
Watered by patience, pride and joy,
Nourished by prayer and labor,
And blessed by God with freedom.
Your stripes and your stars
Are my shield and my cloak,
Your eagles’ my soul soaring high,
Your plains and your mountains
The cradle in which I learned my Faith.
America, my beautiful America,
The night is darker now, and the winds
Beat strong against our homes.
Don’t fear, your children are with you,
For freedom comes from the heart of God.
