Summary
Seton Graduates of 2023 from all over the world gathered for celebration and a commission to build the kingdom of God.This graduation day is a labor of love for the employees who take to heart the education and formation of young people worldwide using Seton Home Study School; we are very grateful to the 174 graduates and their families who journeyed from all over the world to be here today.
We are blessed to have students from 38 states and six graduates from Canada, one from Honduras, one from Colombia, and one from the Philippines.
We have four Eagle Scouts, four high-ranking Civil Air Patrol members, one graduate accepted into the seminary, and a few other young men and women discerning vocations.
The graduates before you here are an extremely impressive group. Already they have worked hard to make the world a better place through political action, volunteer work, and helping those less fortunate. They have truly lived the corporal works of mercy.
St. John Paul II said, “For we are at our best, we are most fully alive and human, when we give away freely and sacrificially our very selves in love for another.”
The Sacrifice of Parents
All of you graduates here, and those many that could not be here, have benefited from the sacrifice and commitment of your parents, who took their mission to raise you so seriously in the faith that they chose homeschooling as an entire way of life. It is not just an academic education you’ve received but a formation that will set you on the path to eternal salvation.
You might feel too ordinary to be called to greatness by God, but there is no such thing.
You have each been made in His image and likeness, and as such created beings, you bring to the world a miraculous gift that only you can bring. Each of you has greatness within you and is called to use those gifts and talents to further God’s kingdom.
Next year will look different for each of you. Still, whether it is a NASCAR pit crew, a teacher’s aid in France, a business administration program, or a marine biology degree, you leave your homeschool as confident disciples of Jesus Christ.
You are Chosen
You have the great gift of knowing who you are, first and foremost, a child of God. Engineer, actress, writer, or accountant can all be taken away or change drastically – what cannot be taken away is that you are His, you are chosen, you belong.
God has planned for you to accomplish much, your parents have sacrificed in harmony with His plan, and we at Seton are immensely proud and grateful to have been part of that plan.
And now I ask you that when you leave here, you go forward to restore all things in Christ and build the kingdom of God.
God bless you all.
