According to a recent Gallup poll, most Americans readily admit that they do not have someone in their lives who they can call their “best friend.” According to this poll, Americans are becoming more and more isolated in our society, with most people admitting to having acquaintances, but no real friends.
What about you? Do you have a best friend? Do you have a group of friends that have been constant throughout your lifetime? Take time to write about them if you do. What is it that you love and appreciate about them the most? If you were to lose them, how would this loss affect you?
For those who do not have a best friend (or any friends), why do you think this is? What are you looking for in a friend? How do you expect them to treat you? What do you desire them to do and be for you?
If you could find a true friend, what would you do for him or her? How would you “be there” for them?
